My 13 yrs boy only wants cat jelly food...

Zoro my baby my boy only wants to eat the jelly part of his food, and avoids the meat. His recent vet check up shows no health issues. I’m worried he’s not getting enough nutrition. Looking for ideas that I could offer him, what to mix with cat jelly food that encourages him to eat his whole meal or something other???

My cat went through this phase too and it drove me mad 😅 She’d lick all the jelly and leave the meat.

What helped was mashing the food up really well with a fork so the jelly and meat were fully mixed together. Once she couldn’t pick bits out, she started eating it properly.

You could also try gravy-style foods or pâté, as there’s no separation to avoid. Mine did much better once I switched to pâté. If you want to stick with jelly food, adding a tiny splash of warm water or some cat-safe broth and mixing it through can help coat the meat so they actually eat it.

If the vet’s happy and he’s otherwise fine, it’s often just fussiness rather than anything serious. Cats can be weirdly picky in my experience!
