Hi Lucy,
Congratulations on your new arrival!
It's wonderful that you're already thinking about diet, as regular changes can cause stomach upset over time. When it comes to different brands, individual tolerance and preferences can vary, but as a general rule it's best to look out for complete and balanced options for your cat's life stage. A named protein (such as chicken, fish, turkey) should be listed as the first ingredient. Cats are obligate carnivores, so a high animal protein content is important, alongside essential nutrients such as taurine, which supports eye and heart health. Avoid foods that have a high percentage of fillers, artificial colours, or excessive carbohydrates. You may also find that including some wet food can help with hydration and urinary health, so dry and wet food mixed often works well. From your list, brands like Purina and Felicia are often considered more nutritionally consistent, while Whiskas and Me-O tend to be lower in meat content. I would suggest starting with a good-quality food, monitor how your cat eats, digests, and maintains weight, and adjust if needed. If you've already found a vet, they will also be able to advise on appropriate diets based on your cat's condition and age.
Wishing all the best for your first weeks together,
