Not long ago, my dog swallowed a meat pad because it smelled of (raw) pork. Is this dangerous or will he just digest it? I can't really take him to the vet as I'm still a minor and my parents are busy...
The absorbent pad looks like this:

Yes, I'll keep an eye on him and give him some mashed carrots every now and then with half a teaspoon of olive oil (I've just made some and he's absolutely loving it 😋). Thanks for the advice! I'll keep you posted if anything seems a bit off.
Erm, no, actually, I don't think it was torn up after all, but I wanted to ask if it could just pass naturally when he does his business? I've spotted something that looks like it in the garden, can anyone confirm?
Hi there,
To help that wipe pass through, rice won't really help (it might actually make him constipated). You should use olive oil and some boiled or steamed vegetables instead. Try 1 or 2 carrots, either mashed into a purée or raw and blended with a bit of water. Give him about one teaspoon a day.
Dogs usually love carrots, but some turn their noses up at them if they're raw. You'll have to experiment to see what he prefers.
Alternatively, you could try small chunks from half an apple, if he likes that. Small bits of courgette are also an option—about the size of a small cube of cheese. Just 2 or 3 bits, no more, either raw or cooked. You could also look for frozen squash and serve it steamed to add some fibre.
Amongst other vegetables, raw cucumber can be helpful, or some well-cooked green beans. Half a small green asparagus tip (well-cooked or from a jar) is also quite effective if you're worried about constipation or a blockage. Just keep asparagus to a minimum in his daily meals because of the diuretic effect.
If he’s a small dog, be very careful with the quantities.
Even if you're feeding him dry food, it's nice for our dogs to have some vegetables and bits of fruit. There are plenty of lists available showing which ones are packed with vitamins:

Regarding fruit, a small chunk (about the size of a small cheese cube) of watermelon or melon is great, especially in the summer as a treat or a little "dessert".

Speak soon. At least there’s no vomiting so far. Is it possible he shredded the wipe? Are you sure he swallowed it whole without tearing it up first?
Well, so far there's been no vomiting, but I haven't noticed any poo yet and she’s still her usual self. So, should I try the olive oil trick? Can I give it to her with some rice?
Edit: I’ve never given her carrots before, could you give me the details on how to go about it?
