Hi everyone, my 2-year-old female Pomeranian has a rather strange coat; since she was spayed, she's kept her undercoat but has lost all of her 'guard hairs'. I'm not really sure what to give her or what treatments etc. to use to encourage regrowth. <\/p>

    You need to get this checked by a pro. We don't have the expertise here, and personal anecdotes would be biased as every dog is different.

    Things to look out for:

    • Is the hair loss progressive and getting worse?

    • Is the hair loss localised or is it all over the body? Note down and photograph any changes.

    • Is the hair growing back thin or not at all (alopecia)?
