Lump on my dog's head

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask, my dog has a sort of lump on her head.

Is this normal? If so, what could be causing it? She hasn't bumped herself and it doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch it or press down on it gently.

I'd really appreciate a quick reply as I'm starting to get seriously worried.

Bye

Good evening, my little girl Dalmatian has a lump on her head... She’s had it for at least 3 days now and it doesn’t seem to be going down at all.

Is the lump quite big? Because if it’s only small, it’s usually nothing serious. My dog has two little lumps about 5mm in size, with a bit of a scab on top. We went to the vet and he said it’s nothing to worry about and that we shouldn't scratch them, just leave them be 🙂

It might not be worth booking a vet appointment just yet; some dog breeds have a sort of bump at the back of their head, it’s just part of their natural build. It’s very common in Labrador-types. Before you book anything, give your vet a ring to get their take on it and describe the situation :) But if the lump is anywhere other than the back of the skull, then yeah, that is a bit more concerning.

Okay, thanks. I'm going to book an appointment with the vet.

Any chance of a photo? Be careful as it could be a cyst or a tumour and it might change or get bigger. Seeing the vet would be best.
