I'm posting here because I’ve just got a little Jack Russell, a 2-month-old puppy, and her breath smells like salami...
At first, I thought that where she was before, they might have given her some, but she’s been on dry food since she’s been with me and nothing has changed...
She’s seeing the vet on Wednesday, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas?

Worming can’t wait, either. It needs to be done as soon as possible. People who don’t even know what their dog is crossed with, yet still go ahead and breed her, are anything but responsible. But anyway, we’re not here to talk about that. Have a good evening! :-)
Hi everyone,
Just back from the vet!
The little one weighs about 2lbs 14oz and she's doing really well!
It turns out her bad breath is actually down to worms, so she's on a course of treatment!!!
As for her background, her dad is a pedigree Jack Russell and her mum is a crossbreed, though the previous owners weren't sure what with. The vet has figured it out though—looking at her head shape and her eyes, she's definitely got some Chihuahua in her. So adorable!!!!
Cindaille, if your little furball is anything like mine was at 2 months, you’ll be brushing her gums because she only had four tiny little teeth... lol ;-)
Cheers for your messages!
I've had two puppies before, my German Shepherd and my late Lab, and I've never smelled anything like this!!!! And now, as soon as she wants a cuddle, it’s really off-putting because it smells so strong!!!
I bought her a minty rope toy but she’s not really keen on it ^^
Maybe it’s her teeth then?
Anyway, I'll keep you posted on what the vet says!!!!
My furball has bad breath sometimes too. My vet told me it can happen – it's just the bacteria developing while their milk teeth are coming through. Definitely check with your vet though, as it could be something else.
