My 11-year-old female Jack Russell has a growth that I'm not happy with: it's quite a large wart given her size (about 1cm in diameter), located on her inner thigh. It's weeping, bleeding slightly, and has a sort of 'cratered' look to it.
Her behaviour is the same as usual and she's fine in herself. However, she does have conjunctivitis in both eyes which is being treated by the vet, but it doesn't seem to be clearing up.
My dog already has a few small old-age warts, but nothing like this. She also developed a sebaceous cyst on her other inner thigh which burst on its own (the vet had already seen that one).
I've tried looking for information online but nothing is conclusive. I saw an article about mast cell tumours, but it seems very alarmist.
If any vets or dog owners who have been through something similar happen to see this, I'd really appreciate your advice before I head to the vet and end up with a hefty bill...
Thanks in advance,
Alyson

Evening,
Our Samoyed, who is nearly 13, has exactly the same wart on her left eye (on the outer side). She also has some discharge on the left side (every day, a big bit of eye gunk). Plus two others: on her little forehead and on her neck.
We’re going to see the vet soon, but my question is: if they suggest an anaesthetic to remove them, I’m a bit worried given her age...
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Hi, normally the vet would consider the risks themselves. If they don’t, make sure you ask them about it.

My 10-year-old beagle (who’s a bit on the heavy side) has also got loads of warts, including some quite big ones that he ends up catching and pulling off, leaving a bit of a crater... coincidentally, ever since these warts appeared, he’s also had trouble with conjunctivitis! (And his eyes are even wandering in opposite directions).
I’m starting him on a homeopathic wart treatment today.
We’ll see.
I’ve read it’s better if you add some magnesium and Thuja as well...
Hi everyone, my dog has had this kind of wart for a few months now and my other dog won't stop licking it... it doesn't seem to be painful, but it's weeping all the time. Should I get him to the vet ASAP?
Hello, I really feel for you and your kitty. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done... Personally, I gently clean the area with 15 ppm Colloidal Silver and use a cotton bud to apply some herbal skin cream two or three times a day. Sometimes it shrinks (bits of it fall off), but it always ends up coming back. I also tried some homeopathic wart drops — I went through two 30ml bottles, giving one drop for every 2 lbs of body weight morning and night — but I've stopped now; I'm not sure if I was right to do that or not. I've also heard that Thuja (the homeopathic remedy) is meant to be quite good, but I don't know if it's safe for cats. That’s just my experience... the wart is still there, but at least it doesn't seem to be bothering her.

Hi everyone, my cat is 18 and a half years old and has a large, benign wart just above her eye. The vet doesn’t want to risk removing this awful growth surgically because he’s worried she won't handle the anaesthesia, so there’s a high risk she might pass away. She also suffers from high blood pressure and hyperthyroidism. The wart has been bleeding for three days now. What do you all think? Are there any other ways to get it removed? Thanks for any advice, I'm really worried about my girl.
Hi, my cat is 18 and a half years old and has a large, non-cancerous wart above her eye. The vet doesn't want to risk removing this awful wart surgically as he told me there's a high chance she wouldn't survive the anaesthesia, so a big risk of her passing away. My cat also suffers from high blood pressure and an overactive thyroid. This wart has been bleeding for 3 days. What do you think??? Are there any other ways to get this wart removed???? Thanks for your replies, I’m so worried about my old girl.
