Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because my old dog (16 years old) had severe inflammation (enlarged spleen, high CRP, and a high white blood cell count). The vet prescribed 10mg of Dermipred for 20 days, with a check-up scheduled for that point. Unfortunately, my dog was already anaemic (30% red blood cell count) at the start of the treatment and had to have a transfusion 20 days later because his red blood cell levels had dropped to barely 11%. I want to be sure that this wasn't a mistake by the vet and if the Dermipred could have caused bleeding, as it has made his condition much worse. He already had an adrenal tumour, but his kidney failure has worsened significantly, possibly triggered by this drop in red blood cells since the kidneys need a lot of oxygen. What do you all think?
