French Bulldog x Staffy cross - advice needed

Hi everyone,

I've already posted asking for some training tips for my new puppy, Kaicha, who is a French Bulldog x Staffy cross.

I already have a 3-year-old Husky, but it seems to me that Frenchies can be a bit more fragile health-wise.

Could you let me know if you've run into any specific issues or if there's anything I should be extra careful about?

I'll admit I don't know much about this breed; I rescued her from a family who were about to drop her off at the RSPCA 😕 She's 4 months old.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Oh, back problems for Frenchies? I didn't know that, though to be fair, they really aren't the luckiest when it comes to their health, the poor things! (Doesn't make them any less cute, of course 😁)

Anyway, a Frenchie and a Husky duo, sounds interesting 😉

What springs to mind for me is the possibility of skin issues and potentially back problems (more from the Bulldog side). That said, AmStaffs are tough as boots, so that should help balance things out.

He might have a sensitive tummy, but it’s not for certain; it really depends on the individual dog.

On the other hand, when it comes to physical exertion, you need to watch his heart and breathing. Frequent breaks are a good idea to help him recover.

Hi there, for a start, she should have fewer breathing issues than a KC registered Frenchie or any other flat-faced breed for that matter. Staffies are generally very healthy though, so that’s a real plus. It’ll all depend on her build and size regarding any potential breed classification (do share a photo if you can!), but given the cross, it’s luckily quite unlikely. Best!
