Seasons occurring too frequently

@Lili, have you had a dog in this situation before, or did you get several vet opinions on it?
I called my vet yesterday to get her take on things. First off, she told me that seasons being so close together is very rare.
I need to keep a close eye on her general health and watch the colour and appearance of any discharge.
If everything seems fine on that front, there’s no rush to have her spayed just yet. It’s possible her cycle will regulate itself given she's still young and her seasons have been almost non-existent so far. She has very light seasons; even our male dog isn't really that interested in her. We can leave them together without any problems.
So, it's a case of wait and see, but if her cycles aren't any longer by the end of the year, she'll definitely need to be spayed.
Please feel free to share your own experiences with this.
Yeah, I’ll definitely have her spayed if her cycles stay this close together. That goes without saying.
That’s not really what my post was about, though; I’m mainly looking to find out if anyone else's dogs have eventually settled into a regular cycle on their own.
I did go and see my vet when she came into season for the second time, only two and a half months after her first one.
She’s being well looked after, so no worries on that front. She’s even had an ultrasound to rule out the possibility of a tumour.
Every dog can have a different cycle; mine comes into season about every four and a half months instead of every six. But every two and a half to three months is quite short, so definitely have a word with your vet!
Hi there!
I think it's a bit strange that her seasons aren't regular. It’s... not normal.
But it could be down to the mild weather we’ve been having, as that can throw their cycles off. I’d suggest getting her spayed, or at least checking with your vet again—maybe even see a second one to get another opinion.
