What's the temperament of a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross like?

Hi everyone, I’d like to find out what kind of temperament my future dogs will have; they are a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross. In about a fortnight, I’m getting two puppies, a male and a female. I’ve never actually seen this cross before, but I have a rough idea of what to expect. I’ve researched Huskies and Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs separately, but I’ve never come across this specific mix. I’d love to hear from anyone who has this type of dog so I know what to expect, as I don’t want them to be unhappy. My son and I are both quite active.

Dog training classes are as much about building your relationship as they are about training your dogs. The trainer is only there to point you in the right direction and help you understand your dog’s behaviour and needs; they don’t do the work for you, but rather guide you and correct your technique during the exercises whenever necessary.

In this case, you’ll definitely need that support. With a crossbreed like that, you never quite know what to expect, and they’ll likely wind each other up, making it very difficult to work with them on your own without professional advice.

Also, the idea that you should get two dogs so they don’t get bored is a bit of a myth. Plenty of dogs live without another canine companion and aren't unhappy at all, even if their owner works, provided you take the time to look after them properly every day. In that case, there’s no issue.

Having two puppies means twice the work when it comes to house-training, impulse control, general training, house rules, and so on...

One can easily lead the other into mischief or help develop behavioural issues.

I keep coming back to this thread, and every time I think to myself "how adorable are these little ones?"

I really want to give them a massive cuddle! ^^

That’s brilliant but, I don’t want to burst your bubble, but with CSVs, there are some much tougher stages when they’re young... so don’t count your chickens just yet! And anyway, why should you be the one with perfect dogs?? 😉👌 Right, I’m off!! Cuddles to the beauties and have a lovely day.

Thanks, but it’s true! So far, I’ve got nothing to complain about. It’s true they’ve each got their own personality, but I love that. I admit they’re dogs that need a lot of attention. That’s just the reality of it, but I’d already come to terms with what they’re like. I hope it stays this way.

    Tough day, lol.

    Hi!

Yes, you often find something that makes them feel secure and calms them down... usually a few scratches!

I had that little purple collar for Genesys, such memories!!

Anyway, thank you for keeping the updates coming because a lot of people don't, and I think it's a real shame – I love seeing how the dogs progress.

Thanks for following along, Tania 28700. I’m absolutely over the moon with my two puppies; I was honestly expecting the worst after everything people write online. At the moment, I’m teaching them to walk to heel and I’m already seeing results. We're doing the 'stay' command too, but it's tough because as soon as I get about a metre away, they come running lol. They’re so clever! Basically, they’re being very good dogs so far! Anyway, there’s no such thing as a bad dog, only a bad owner. You’ve always got to look at yourself. If one way isn't working, you have to try something else. And you get there in the end. So, there we go! And a photo to finish.

They look so lovely with those big ears, they’re definitely nice and perky anyway!!!👍

Yeah, they’re definitely standing tall now lol, and to think that when I saw them as tiny pups I was worried their ears were broken

Thankssss!! Right, I’ve got a bit of a stiff neck now, but hey, it’s for a good cause! How old are they now? 👌

Exactly three months today and they’ve got their jabs tomorrow. I hope it all goes okay?! I’m not worrying too much though, as I’ve already taken them to the vet for a nasty bout of diarrhoea; they had an injection and didn’t even make a peep. I just had to stroke them near their ears and it calms them down.

Sorry, I’ve already posted this one.
