What's the temperament of a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross like?

Hi everyone, I’d like to find out what kind of temperament my future dogs will have; they are a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross. In about a fortnight, I’m getting two puppies, a male and a female. I’ve never actually seen this cross before, but I have a rough idea of what to expect. I’ve researched Huskies and Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs separately, but I’ve never come across this specific mix. I’d love to hear from anyone who has this type of dog so I know what to expect, as I don’t want them to be unhappy. My son and I are both quite active.

It's so sad, I hope this happens less and less. You never abandon a dog, you’ve got to take responsibility for goodness’ sake!!!! Except for those rare genuine cases where people really have no choice and absolutely have to rehome their dogs, but otherwise I think it’s just a poor excuse!!!! It just leads to dogs spending their whole lives going from one foster home to another. Anyway, yours look lovely at the moment, it’s great to see. Big hugs to you all.

Yes, you’re spot on, but I got mine at exactly 7 weeks and they’re already starting to learn so much. Every evening involves plenty of cuddles, training and playtime, and everything is going really well. I love them to bits, the little rascals lol. Plus, they really balance each other out because Laska is very calm and Rocky is a bit hyper. I hope I never have to go through that, but I’ll do everything I can to make sure they’re as happy as possible.

It’s so sad, I hope we see less and less of this. You never abandon a dog, you bloody well take responsibility!!!! Aside from those genuine cases where people really have a crisis and are forced to part with their dogs, otherwise I reckon it’s just people being selfish!!!! And then you end up with dogs spending their whole lives being moved between different foster homes. Anyway, yours look great at the moment, it’s lovely to see. Big hugs to you all.

They’re gorgeous! One is a handful enough, but two... you’re a braver soul than me! I love their eyes *^*

Yes, thanks! It’s definitely hard work having two dogs like this but they really bring the house to life, I love it. I’d psyched myself up so much thinking it was going to be a total nightmare that I actually think it’s not too bad. Could’ve been worse lol

It’s funny, you can really see both the CWD and Husky traits! Yeah, I’m definitely voting for more photos too! Mind you, trying to get a photo of a wolfdog (especially with Husky in the mix) is a proper mission!! 😉

LOL, I’ve only just realised. Yeah, to take photos of them you’ve got to give them something to grab their attention and keep them looking at the lens, otherwise you just end up with a load of blurry shots lol. Videos are much better!

In this photo, they’re in a pen made of wooden boards but the front is open so they can come and go as they please—I’m just saying that before people start accusing me of animal cruelty lol.

It's funny, you can really see the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog features as well as the Husky's!

Yeah, I'm dying to see more too! Mind you, trying to get a photo of a wolfdog (especially with a bit of Husky in there as well) is a real mission!! 😉

Lol, I've just realised what you mean; yeah, to get a photo of them you have to give them something to grab their attention towards the lens, otherwise you just end up with a load of blurry shots lol. It's much easier with videos!

    They're gorgeous!

Tell us a bit about how things are going, it can't be easy!

So far I can't really complain, they're full of life. I also nearly lost my girl because she was eating too fast and I had to pull the food out of her throat myself; I was absolutely terrified. She was in shock afterwards and stayed completely still for about 3 minutes. THE FRIGHT OF MY LIFE! They’re so clever, especially Laska! Sometimes I tell Rocky to "lie down" and Laska jumps on him to make him do it lol, she's very smart compared to Rocky who’s a bit of a nutter lol.

At the moment they're definitely a cross between a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog and a Husky; they love to run but they're very scared of leaving our land, though it's starting to get better now. They run the whole way back to the house, they love it, especially Laska; Rocky on the other hand likes to stop and sniff everything lol. I think Laska will end up being the pack leader. It’s hard to tell though since they’re still so young. I don't think they'll ever be the type to obey every command perfectly, but I knew that going in. Otherwise, I would have just got a German Shepherd. Anyway, I’m so happy to see them and spend time with them, they always give me such a huge welcome when I get home from work lol. During the day my wife looks after them with my three kids. They’re very curious and alert to every little sound. Right, that’s about it for now lol, I’ll tell you more when they’re a bit older.

Mind you, trying to get a photo of a wolfdog (especially one mixed with a Husky) is a real nightmare!! 😉 And what about you Tania, do you have any photos of your speedsters lol? Tania was actually the first name I’d picked lol, but we ended up with Laska and Rocky ☺️
