What's the temperament of a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross like?

Hi everyone, I’d like to find out what kind of temperament my future dogs will have; they are a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross. In about a fortnight, I’m getting two puppies, a male and a female. I’ve never actually seen this cross before, but I have a rough idea of what to expect. I’ve researched Huskies and Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs separately, but I’ve never come across this specific mix. I’d love to hear from anyone who has this type of dog so I know what to expect, as I don’t want them to be unhappy. My son and I are both quite active.

Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs are very, very clever. Let out a sharp "ouch" to startle him, and redirect him from what he's trying to do by tossing him a toy.

Thanks, I'll give that a go!

I wasn't aiming that at you, far from it! I know you're doing and will continue to do your absolute best for them, I completely understand. Yes, and more photos please – and not blurry ones! Okay, I'm off!! But it’s not easy taking photos with two handfuls like CSVs. Give the gorgeous babies a cuddle 😉 Thanks, I figured as much lol, but I just wanted to explain my perspective a bit. Don't worry, I didn't take it personally lol. They're really starting to surprise me; they're obeying the "sit" command nicely when I get back into the house after their walk so I can wipe their paws. My only slight worry is my boy; I find he nips a bit hard when he's playing compared to his sister, who is very gentle with her mouthing. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

Yes, yes, and more photos please, and not blurry ones!! Okay, I'm going!! But it's not easy taking photos with two wild characters like CSVs, give the gorgeous babies a cuddle 😉

I wasn't saying that about you, far from it! I know you're doing and will do everything you can for their well-being, I completely get it.

Yes, please, more photos—and not blurry ones, if you don't mind! Okay, I’m seeing myself out now! But I know it’s not easy taking pictures of two absolute madcaps like CLTs. Give those gorgeous babies a cuddle for me! 😉

Yes, I’ve just seen the listing, poor girl! I hope she finds someone who is up to the challenge of this breed and who can help her find her spark again. When I say I’m against crossing high-energy breeds, if the right advice isn't followed, it’s bound to end in disaster! Especially as both breeds are quite niche...

"Not dominant with other dogs" – okay, but she isn’t fully grown yet, and everything can still change.

And yes, if it’s only a fencing issue, there are solutions!

    Poor lass, honestly! 😈

Yeah, you’re right about all that, I hope I’m up to the task! But on the whole, I can’t complain. I’m busy teaching them some manners and they do listen, in their own way. But there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. Always questioning yourself and trying to understand the "why" – that’s how I plan to move forward with my pups. I didn’t just get them because they’re gorgeous, even though they are stunning, but so I could do sports with them. I only ever had dogs as a kid, never as a responsible adult. It took a lot of thought before we decided to go for it. Our lives have definitely changed now, but it’s for a good cause. We’re learning as we go because there’s so much that's new lol. I managed to get a great photo while teaching them the "stay" command – very difficult lol. At the moment, they’ve definitely got that typical skittish CLT temperament, but I’m taking them to the school gates to get them socialised. I’ll definitely keep you updated.

Yeah, I’ve just seen the advert, poor girl! I really hope she finds someone who is up to the challenge of this breed and can give her a new lease of life. This is exactly why I’m against crossing high-drive breeds; without the right guidance, it’s just a recipe for disaster! Especially as both breeds are already quite specialist...

‘Not dominant with other dogs’ – okay, but she hasn’t reached adulthood yet and everything can still change.

And honestly, if it’s only a matter of the fencing, there are solutions!

    Poor thing, really! 😈
