What's the temperament of a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross like?

Hi everyone, I’d like to find out what kind of temperament my future dogs will have; they are a Husky x Czechoslovakian Wolfdog cross. In about a fortnight, I’m getting two puppies, a male and a female. I’ve never actually seen this cross before, but I have a rough idea of what to expect. I’ve researched Huskies and Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs separately, but I’ve never come across this specific mix. I’d love to hear from anyone who has this type of dog so I know what to expect, as I don’t want them to be unhappy. My son and I are both quite active.

Personally, my Jack Russell was attacked by this breed. This crossbreed should be banned. It cost me around £650 in vet bills.

As Tania28700 rightly pointed out, these sorts of crosses should really be avoided, especially with these breeds which are already known for being quite a handful. Zanderic hasn't been back on the forum lately; I just hope the initial excitement hasn't turned into a bit of a disappointment...

Physically, they might be gorgeous pups... but I can't stand these volatile crosses. You never know how they're going to turn out as adults, so we need to stop messing about! Alright, this cross has already happened, and I wish the owner all the best (we want updates, by the way!), but for goodness sake, people shouldn't be repeating these mixes! There are already enough dogs of these breeds looking for owners who can actually handle them, so no more experimental breeding! Who’s the one who’ll end up suffering anyway? The dog, who didn’t ask for any of this. Totally agree with you Tania. Given the temperament issues with these dogs, the rescues are going to be overrun soon. Have a good weekend 👋 Same here; people often don't even imagine what their behaviour might be like, or they just adopt them for their looks.

There are already far too many pets being abandoned. Have a great weekend!

    Hi there,

I’ve got a Husky/Malamute cross Greyhound and she’s absolutely brilliant. She was a real handful to manage until she was about 4, but she’s one of a kind. She’s 7 now and definitely a dominant female. She needs plenty of space and is a bit of an escape artist—she gets out regularly but always comes back; if she didn't, I’d know something had happened. She’s incredibly loyal, very clever, and has a massive prey drive; everything she does is to the extreme. With a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, you’re getting much closer to the "wild" side. Just bear in mind there are several types of Husky, and the Alaskan or Siberian isn't actually the most intense. I’m sure the puppies will be gorgeous. Best of luck!

Those two beauties are gorgeous... How have they come along? Are they a year old now? My sister has a Czech Wolfdog x Saarloos cross... he’s definitely a handful too! There’s just no way to properly train him... How are you getting on with that particular cross?

Jaybanou, there’s no way of knowing what the temperament of that kind of explosive cross will be like. They’re already two breeds with very strong personalities, so... it’s a bit of a lottery, and not one I’d be willing to risk!
