Yes... it had settled down, but it's started up again...

You know Bangdji, quite a few of us, especially among the "old-timers", have taken a step back from the site lately. We're posting less, or even not at all, and some have left for good (no, Abbyo, not you as well! 😐)...

It’s simply because the atmosphere has gone downhill recently. Some people’s posts aren't there to discuss, debate or help anymore; they’re just there to have a dig, attack, manipulate, insinuate, bully and troll... And after a while, it gets exhausting and you just get fed up. Since that good old forum spirit has gone and we’ve got more useful things to do than waste our energy on certain toxic individuals, we’re keeping our distance a bit more, which is a real shame as we miss out on the good times with everyone else...

Wiwi bore the brunt of it, and she’s not the only one.

And yes, Lorna left because the atmosphere here has soured as well; she wasn't the only one either, and she might not be the last.

When you think about the potential of this place, the great debates and chats we can have, trying to help without constantly jumping down each other's throats at the slightest disagreement or blaming the other person for everything under the sun...

Luckily, there’s still a bit of that left; there are still good times and lovely chats with nice people 😌, but this atmosphere of persecution and never-ending petty infighting that’s taken hold isn't very pleasant. It spoils things, gets in the way, puts you off, and it's a pity. 😞

But I agree with you: Wiwi, don't pull away! 😉

@Urh'Zae, it was entirely up to me whether or not to mention this work project. When someone here tells me something in confidence, even if it seems trivial, I wouldn't dream of posting it in public. Especially since it was insinuated that this "poor dog" would likely be mistreated—because apparently, being a working dog (sorry, the term used was "security dog") automatically means a miserable quality of life. I’ve seen neglect and abuse in this industry myself, and it absolutely sickened me. That doesn't mean I’m going to behave the same way...

Unfortunately for this snitch and their insinuations, this dog is treated exactly the same as my other two... He sleeps in the house, goes for walks, gets plenty of cuddles and the same level of care as my 10-year-old girl and my farty Doberman, who’s nearly 5.

Let’s also be clear that, until proven otherwise, @AlfredW has no experience, knowledge, or expertise in this field. Their specialty is clearly just speculation.

Anyway, I’m going back to lurking; I’m not going to clutter up this thread any further. Now that the "mystery" over our identities has been cleared up (how ridiculous and laughable...), I hope I won’t be tagged to read this kind of nonsense and confusion again.

Why report it? Is it really that unusual to work with a working dog?

Especially with Mals, it's in their blood – they’re practically little robots if you aren't careful (the trickiest part, at least with Noo, was making sure I maintained a bit of a "balance").

You’re right, he is a Dutch Shepherd; he’s a sniffer dog (airport). Noo only started recently, as his first year was dedicated to his training and learning his "job". It’s a bit of a niche field, but to report it...

It seems as absurd to me as complaining about a Border Collie being used as a sheepdog, a Husky as a sled dog, or a Beagle as a hunting dog 😶😶😶

As for having to justify our answers... well, I don’t really know what to say to be honest 🤣 other than the fact that a simple "it’s good" or "it’s bad" without backing up your point seems a bit... empty.
