Hi everyone,

I have a little moggy kitten who is 3 months old today. If anyone knows a bit about this sort of thing, I’d love to know if it’s possible that he might end up with at least semi-long hair.

His dad is a purebred Birman, and his mum was a moggy cross, already mixed with Siamese and Birman.

I’ve always wanted a long-haired cat, but I just fell in love with Zephir. So, if there’s even a small chance he might have semi-long hair, it would be a real bonus ;)

Also, if you have any before and after photos of your cats (as kittens and then as adults), I think it would be lovely to see those too.

Thanks in advance

My kitten's coat development :p

In the photo where he is in his red bed, he was 2 months and a few days old; in the others, he is 3 months old today.

Hi there! Your cat has thick, semi-long fur, but it won't get much longer now, if at all. On the other hand, it might get thicker—it's a bit unpredictable and depends on various things, so only time will tell! :)

Kiara now—her fur is still just as thick, if not thicker, and semi-long, though it's less obvious now that she’s grown up.

Her mum had long fur, but her dad didn't.
