My little Louna is in a really bad way...

About ten days ago, I took her to the vet because she’d stopped eating altogether; she was hiding away and even seemed scared of me.

My cat is in a really bad way...

It was a right struggle getting her to the vet because she absolutely hates travelling... but anyway...

The vet diagnosed her with gingivitis, so she was put on Dermipred (steroids) for 6 days and an antibiotic—I can't remember the name of it now.

She seemed better for the first five days, but since then she’s been going downhill day by day, and today I can't even get her to eat a thing.

I called my vet back, and they’ve advised me to keep her on the Dermipred for another 5 or 6 days, but I honestly don't know how to get the meds into her now. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has this ever happened to your moggy too? I'm desperate for some help, please. Thanks in advance... :(

It's only natural to help each other out... especially when it comes to our beloved four-legged friends! I followed the advice myself for my own girl who has cancer; she’s now under the care of a homeopath in town who has prescribed a more comprehensive treatment, but she confirmed that what I was giving her before was spot on. I really hope you find a solution for little Louna very soon!

Why not look into homeopathy or herbal remedies? Have a look at Dr Arnaud’s blog – he’s a retired vet who practised for many years and gives some really sound advice. You can explain your pet’s situation to him and he answers all your questions. Best of luck!

Thanks for the update on Louna... she’s going to feel so much better now. I know dental issues aren't always obvious to us, but they really need to be taken seriously (you have to keep an eye out for any changes in behaviour), as an infection can really have a massive impact on their overall health. So, well done to you, and I wish you both nothing but happiness with Louna.

Just hide her meds in her wet food, she won't notice a thing. Sending lots of love to your kitty. Hang in there. Manon2611
