Hi everyone,
My little Roby can’t seem to put any weight on his front left paw at the moment. Because of that, he's really struggling to get around and it's clearly painful for him to walk. He's also stopped going to his food bowl (though when I bring his food over to him, he wolfs it all down immediately).
This paw trouble first happened last week before I took him to the vet. He seemed to be doing better with the treatment they gave him, but now it's back.
Since it’s flared up again, I was wondering if there are any well-known reasons why cats get this kind of paw pain?
He is FIV+, so he’s strictly an indoor cat and doesn’t leave the flat.
Just for some background, I adopted him two months ago. He’s 3 years old and was found last year completely collapsed in the street. He was in a terrible state and still has some scarring on his skin from it. We don’t know anything about his history before that.
The vet thinks it might be a tick-borne illness, but as I mentioned, he doesn’t go outside.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this pain? And how I can help him? (I’m a student and I’ve already spent about £300 in vet bills this month alone because of various infections that keep coming and going... things are starting to get really difficult financially).
Thanks in advance for your replies!
