My cat's ripping off her dressing

Right, my cat's just been spayed this morning, and ever since we brought her home, she's been licking and trying to pull her dressing off. We haven't got a cone, and it's impossible to get a proper bandage on her because she won't stop moving and hiding. The vets are closed now, so I've got no idea what to do at all... please help!!

Yeah, that’s a brilliant idea! You should patent that invention ;) Good evening and thanks again!

Haha, yeah, I think it’s brilliant too! I got the idea when my Kiara tried to rip her bandage off. I'd taken her to the vet and they'd put a cone on her, but I felt so sorry for her because she was really struggling to eat and drink, and couldn't even climb her cat tree. So I thought I'd try putting a sock on her, and it actually stayed in place until we went to get her stitches out! :)

OK, thanks for the reassurance, but after putting the sock on, she had a bit of a wriggle, but it stayed put and it’s still holding!! The sock trick is absolutely brilliant ;)

    Hi there.

I’d also recommend the "sock trick"—it’s brilliant ^^

Don’t stress too much if she pulls her bandage off, though; cats rarely bother with their stitches.

My girl was also spayed recently, and the vet didn't use any dressings or a cone. She gave the incision a bit of a lick, but nothing more.

It all healed up perfectly; two weeks later, you couldn't even see the scar anymore.

Basically, don't worry too much even if she doesn't have any protection on.

    Have a good evening.

Yeah, of course, but we went for a large (not too big though, mind you!) :)

Right, that should stay on now :) Just make sure the sock isn't too tight, mind!
