Cat licking her bum for 4 days

Hi everyone,

For the last 4 days, my little girl has been licking her bum and sleeping a lot more than usual.

Since today, she’s been off her food and water. She’s just staying on the sofa, licking her back end, and she "growled" twice. I’ve also noticed a few drops of dark red blood.

Has anyone ever dealt with this before? Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance for your replies, I'm really worried.

Best regards,

Audrey

I went to the vet yesterday morning. They kept her in for surgery. She had pyometra (a nasty pus-filled infection of the womb); it only happens to unspayed cats. I picked her up last night. She’s doing much better now. We’re so relieved.

Hi Audrey, if the little one goes out in the garden, she might have met a local tomcat!

    Don't wait too long...

Things have got worse. She lost a lot of blood overnight. I've got a vet appointment at 8:30.

I've had a look, and it's not her anus she's licking but the opening underneath it.

No, she hasn't been wormed for a while. I went to the out-of-hours pharmacy to buy some tablets for her. I just hope it’s nothing more serious than that...

I’ll be booking an appointment with the vet first thing tomorrow.

    Thanks for the reply anyway.

Has she been wormed? If not, she might have worms.
