This morning our little Apple (nearly 4 years old, spayed) went out for her usual hunt. Around 8:50 am she came back with some tiny scratches, mostly on her head, which makes us think she's been in a scrap (she's very territorial and it does happen sometimes), but she seems really out of sorts and lethargic. She went to hide and sleep in some clothes and didn't get up until about 2 pm. She's eaten and has been asking for fusses, so on the face of it, she seems okay, and the wounds have stopped bleeding. However, she still seems really tired and poorly, almost like she's been sedated. Is this normal? Thanks!

I’m delighted to say that Apple is doing brilliantly! She was up this morning full of beans and went about her usual morning routine. No signs of tiredness at all! She’s as fit as a fiddle!
Evening is drawing in and the little lady is doing much better! She’s no longer looking so groggy and she’s eating, drinking and purring. She’s just sleeping more than usual, but doesn’t seem to be under the effects of the anaesthetic anymore. It looks like my worries were unfounded :D
We’ll head to the vet tomorrow if she’s not doing any better. I gave her a ring, and she said she couldn't say for sure as she hasn't seen her yet, but she mentioned it could easily be down to the shock and the exertion! So, we’ll just have to wait and see. At the moment, apart from the fact she’s sleeping a lot, she seems alright; when we pick her up (which we’ve just done to check her wounds), she’s bright-eyed and alert.
Well, it’s not a rat; the little wounds don’t match up. If I can get a vet appointment it won't be until tomorrow, so we’ll just have to wait and see in the meantime. She’s eating, purring and grumbling when we touch her too much (as usual), but we’ve checked her over thoroughly and she hasn’t got any wounds anywhere else but her head.
It’s up to you, only a check-up will tell you for sure.
Right, it's not a rat; the little wounds don't match. The earliest I can get her to the vet is tomorrow, so we’ll just have to wait and see until then. She’s eating, purring, and grumbling when we touch her too much (the usual!), but we’ve given her a good check-over and she hasn’t got any wounds anywhere other than on her head.
