I’m posting here to share my experience and find out if anyone else has been through something similar. <\/p>

My little Kiki, who turns 3 in ten days, has had a few health scares, and since January, she’s been having these bouts of vomiting. It starts in the morning with really loud tummy rumbles (which she never has normally). About half an hour to an hour later, she starts vomiting repeatedly for several hours. Then it stops and she’s back to her normal self—eating, playing, etc. This started suddenly in January, happened again a month later, then three months after that, and so on. It’s always the same pattern: gurgling when she wakes up, followed by several bouts of vomiting, and then she’s back to normal. <\/p>
Last Monday, she had another episode and it was quite severe. I panicked and rushed her to the emergency vet hospital. They did immediate blood tests for her kidney function, but everything was spot on. They gave her an anti-sickness injection and I took her to my own vet the following day. She had an X-ray to rule out a hairball or a foreign body (blockage), as Kiki is long-haired and can get hairballs that lead to constipation—it's happened before. But this time, there was nothing. I decided to ask for further tests, so she eventually had an ultrasound and full blood work. They checked everything and it all came back negative. Her digestive tract isn’t even inflamed, no ulcers, and all her levels for the pancreas, liver, etc., are fine. <\/p>
The vet thinks it might be a sudden, severe food intolerance or allergy, or perhaps related to hair passing through. She’s currently on a stomach protectant and some tablets. <\/p>
I’ve just bought some Royal Canin Gastrointestinal dry food to see if that sorts it out, and I’ve got some steroids and Cerenia on hand if it happens again. <\/p>

Has anyone else experienced this with their pet? A friend told me her little dog went through the exact same thing out of the blue, and she managed to get everything back on track with highly digestible dry food. <\/p>
It’s very distressing to watch, and our poor girl lost about 7oz (200g) because of it (she’s already put about 3.5oz back on). <\/p>
