Since we got back from the vet's yesterday evening, Leo hasn't stopped licking his private parts. I'm worried it won't heal properly and might get infected? Need some help! Thanks

Yeah, that wasn't very clever because he's really putting up a fight!!!!! I'm going to wait for some backup before having another go!!!

It depends on the vet, @Civa. Gatsby wasn't shaved, just had a bit of a trim, but Harley was—he had a proper little bald patch! :) It's the same practice, but it wasn't the same vet who operated on the two of them.

The vet should have trimmed the fur a bit in that spot, that wasn't very clever of them! Maybe you could get someone to help you at home to give it a little trim?

Yeah, the vet told me it’s normal as long as he’s eating and he’s bright and alert. Now the real struggle is trying to get the Betadine on that spot!!!! I think it’s because of his fur being so long, it just keeps sticking to the wound!!!

Hi Euqi, I haven't read the posts above, but I'm so glad to hear that everything is normal for Léo... cuddles to your three kitties and a meow from Théo! ;)

Hi Mure, if you’re replying to Ohara, she’s called her vet and they told her it was normal (page 2) :)

That’s weird, I don’t remember mine doing that when he was neutered... ask the vet :)

My sister had her cats done recently. They both had big bandages, but Gally completely shredded hers --' So a cone or one of those inflatable donut collars would’ve been really useful for her... Geb couldn’t have cared less though X).

Spot on, Soso, it doesn't block their line of sight at all, and it stops them bumping into everything like they do with those cones. It's much easier for eating too, and for getting into the litter tray or just getting comfy for a sleep. Honestly, such a brilliant find!
