Covered in glue, 2-month-old kitten regains her freedom thanks to clever vets

By Ludivine Mazzottiβ€’

On 6 October, the De Gaulle Veterinary Clinic in Neuilly-sur-Marne, France, shared the story of an adorable little tortoiseshell kitten who is around two and a half months old.

The start of this kitten's life was certainly not easy...

She was brought into the clinic after being found stuck in a sticky glue mouse trap.

A sticky situation

The medical team were very worried when they saw her condition. Her entire hindquarters were covered in the sticky substance. The vets tried several methods to remove the glue, including shampoos and oil baths, but nothing worked. They even tried products designed to remove adhesive residue from plasters, without success.

The glue remained stubbornly stuck despite all their efforts. The vets had to come up with a much more radical solution...

An unusual haircut

They had to completely shave her hindquarters to get rid of all the glue. With her original new haircut, the little kitten, now named Cleo, certainly turns heads. The great news is that she can finally move around freely!

Today, Cleo is doing wonderfully well and is particularly affectionate. The De Gaulle Clinic mentioned that they plan to keep her for at least a week to monitor her health and make sure she recovers properly from her ordeal.

We are relieved that Cleo was saved in time. The lovely little creature has already been through a tough ordeal in her first few months of life. Fortunately, she does not seem to have suffered any lasting effects, as you can see in the photos below.

The brave kitten is looking for a forever home
