Sadly, there were some simple pleasures this lovely dog had never experienced before – like having her very own toys.
On 18 September, her owner filmed the Golden Retriever in the garden, playing with her new cuddly llama toy.
Torn between two choices
In the video below, you can see just how excited the gorgeous dog is with her gift. However, she seems completely torn between holding the soft toy gently in her mouth or tearing it to shreds.
Many dogs absolutely love destroying their toys. Her owner even captioned the video with, "Pray for the llama," as it remains a mystery whether the toy is still intact or if it has already received some loving nibbles from Bevie Lou.
Much-needed comfort
For rescue dogs adjusting to a brand-new environment, having a toy of their own can provide vital emotional support. In the video, the llama toy is clearly doing its job perfectly. Bevie Lou whimpers with excitement, wags her tail joyfully, and seems completely captivated by her new companion.
Bevie Lou is certainly making the most of her gift and carries it everywhere she goes. Her new family added with a touch of humour: "We rescued Bevie. Who is going to rescue the llama?"
Happily, Bevie Lou no longer has to wait behind the bars of a kennel. This lovely dog now knows what cuddles, safety, and toys feel like. We wish her many wonderful adventures with her family – and her llama!
