To ensure they could properly care for all the cats already in their charge, the team had been forced to temporarily close their doors to new arrivals.
But on 18th September, a visitor turned up at the shelter carrying a simple paper bag...
A cry for help
Tucked inside the bag was a tiny grey kitten. The person who brought him in explained that they could no longer keep him and had absolutely nowhere else to turn.
The rescuers faced a real dilemma. With the shelter already packed to the rafters, they simply did not have the space to take him in. They could have stuck to their decision and turned him away, but they knew the tiny kitten stood little chance of survival without their help.
A brand new life
Ultimately, the kind-hearted rescuers could not bear to leave him behind. They took him in and named him Charlie. As soon as he arrived, the little fellow began exploring his new, safe surroundings. Charlie was immediately treated to proper, nutritious food, received a full veterinary check-up, and was given his first vaccinations.
At the shelter, Charlie also discovered the joy of cuddles — and safe to say, he is a huge fan! The sweet little cat rolls onto his back as soon as anyone approaches, demanding chin scratches. It is an absolutely heart-melting sight.
Taking Charlie in unexpectedly required a bit of juggling from the shelter team, but nobody regrets making that choice. We hope this lovely kitten grows big and strong and finds his perfect forever home very soon.
