On 17 September, the sweet pup finally got what he had been dreaming of more than anything else in the world.
It is impossible not to feel moved when watching the video below.
A fresh start
In the video, we can see one of the shelter staff coming to collect Huey from his kennel. The puppy is absolutely thrilled to see her and happily follows her out. He keeps glancing back at the camera, as if to make sure the person filming is keeping up.
He seems to realise very quickly that something big is about to happen. When Huey arrives in the reception area, he spots his new mum. The puppy walks right up to her, instantly soaking up all her affection. As she gently strokes him, he stays close by her side, clearly treasuring every single second.
A special bond is formed
The emotion is clear to see, as more than 15,000 people who watched the clip on TikTok have pointed out. Huey knows this is no ordinary walk. In fact, the puppy is so ready to leave with his new family that he almost seems to be urging his new mum to get a move on!
Before leaving the shelter for good, the young pup takes one last quick look behind him. But this time, Huey is not going back to his kennel. He is heading to HIS home, where a loving family is waiting for him. We are absolutely delighted for him and his new family, and we wish them nothing but the very best for the future!
