Woman finds a cat in a shopping trolley, but realises her mistake a week later

The woman got quite a shock when she went to get a shopping trolley.

A tiny intruder had made himself at home right at the bottom of the stack.

Finding shelter

There was a black and white cat lying at the bottom of a trolley outside the store. The lady assumed he was a lost pet and that his family must be looking for him. She took a quick photo of the kitty to post online, hoping his owners would spot it.

She also asked the store staff if they recognised the cat. Two employees told her he had been hanging around for a week. They had been feeding him occasionally to help him get by. The next day, the woman decided to go back and check if the cat was still in the trolley.

In need of help

When she returned the following day, the cat was waiting near the store entrance, so she decided to take him home for the night. Unfortunately, her own cats are quite territorial and did not accept the newcomer. As a result, she decided to take him to a local rescue shelter.

However, guilt began to gnaw at her. She spent the entire week thinking about the cat... Eventually, she and her child went back to the shelter and decided to adopt the sweet boy, naming him Charlie Jasper Moonstone. Reddit users fell in love with the cat immediately and praised the woman for giving him a second chance: "He is so cute! I love his colour. I'm so glad the cat distribution system sent him your way." Another joked: "Gosh, you really can find absolutely everything at Target!"
