Locked in a shed for eight years, this Golden Retriever takes a tiny kitten under his wing

For eight long years, Bruce lived locked away in a small wooden shed, used purely for breeding at a puppy farm. When he was rescued in October 2024, the Golden Retriever knew nothing about what it meant to be a normal dog. Terrified of everything around him, he had to learn how to live from scratch with the help of his new owner.

Thanks to a lot of patience, love and kindness, Bruce slowly but surely learned to come out of his shell. Two years later, the once-terrified dog has blossomed into a joyful, playful, and energetic companion.

A heartbreaking past as a puppy farm dog

Although his difficult past could have left him hardened, Bruce remained incredibly gentle. He never barks, preferring to make soft, affectionate whimpers instead. So, when his owner brought home two feral kittens, the big dog fell head over heels for them straight away.

A magical bond with a feral kitten

He clicked instantly with one of them, a little kitten named Trout. The formerly neglected dog is now wonderfully gentle with his tiny feline friend, watching over him and happily sharing his new life with his loving family.
