Four tiny kittens and their mum rescued from the dangers of a California building site

By Elodie Carpentier

Born amidst the roar of heavy machinery and the dust of a busy building site, four kittens and their mum have narrowly escaped an uncertain future. Thanks to a vigilant local resident and the quick action of a local rescue group, this little family is now safe and sound.

A mother cat chose to give birth to her litter under a simple shed, just yards away from a bustling building site in Southern California, USA, according to pet website The Dodo.

Surrounded by the constant roar of machinery and the daily hustle and bustle of builders, the mum cared for her four newborns.

A local resident named Alexandra soon spotted them and decided to keep a close eye on the little family. For several weeks, she made sure they were well fed.

A helping hand from a local charity

Alexandra quickly contacted a local animal charity to help the little family. The rescue group, Friends Of Normie, stepped in to coordinate their safe capture. A volunteer named Jackeline managed to gently trap the mother cat and her four tiny kittens.

A bright future ahead

The mother cat was neutered before being released back to her familiar outdoor territory, preventing any future unwanted litters. Meanwhile, her babies were handed over to Alexandra, who happily volunteered to become their foster mum.

For now, the kittens are thriving in Alexandra's care and will be put up for adoption once they are old enough.
