As he was filtering through the traffic, he saw what looked like a grey plastic bag on the road.
The closer Diego got, the more the "bag" seemed to change shape. Then he realised it was actually a tiny kitten, lying in the middle of the motorway. With such heavy traffic, the kitten had almost no chance of survival.
A dangerous rescue
Diego acted purely on instinct. He pulled his motorbike over onto the hard shoulder and ran out into the traffic. Fortunately, another driver helped by stopping their car to block the road while he carried out the rescue.
The biker managed to reach the kitten, scoop it up, and carry it safely back to his motorbike. Luckily, the little one didn't seem to have any injuries.
A happy new beginning
Diego tucked the kitten inside his jacket so he could ride home with it. The little animal was surprisingly calm and snuggled up to him for the whole journey. Once home, Diego named the kitten Lucky. He settled him in a quiet room so he could rest. At first, Lucky hid for several hours before gradually allowing his rescuer to pet him.
Then, Lucky met Diego's daughter, and it was love at first sight. A very special bond formed between them, and they became inseparable. Diego then decided to officially adopt Lucky. The little grey kitten is now thriving in his new forever family!
