Alexis Aguilar, co-founder and rescue coordinator at Feeling Peris Stray in the US, will remember this day for a long time.
As reported by the website The Dodo, she was contacted after some puppies were discovered.
After a 40-minute drive, she found a basket containing no fewer than seven puppies. The passerby who contacted the charity had placed the dogs in the basket and given them food and water before leaving.
An unexpected encounter
When Alexis arrived, she noticed that the mother dog was nearby. She was nervous around humans and protective of her babies, so she hesitated to approach at first.
A loving foster home
Once she built trust with the mother, Alexis was able to bring the whole family to safety. The vet estimated that the puppies were only two to three weeks old.
The entire family was placed in a foster home. It was the perfect opportunity for the mother, who had been neglected for a long time, to finally be pampered.
The mother and her puppies will spend several weeks in their foster home before they are ready to be put up for adoption.
