A truly shocking discovery has sparked an immediate criminal investigation in East Windsor, USA. A puppy just 13 weeks old was found alive, but severely injured, trapped inside a rubbish bag thrown to the bottom of a large bin.
The little rescue was taken in by local police officers, who affectionately named him Oscar. Due to the severity of his condition, the puppy was rushed to a veterinary hospital in a bid to stabilise him.
Over 5,000 dollars in vet bills
Medical examinations revealed that Oscar was suffering from severe trauma across his entire body. The young pup will need to undergo several major operations in the coming days:
- Major eye surgery.
- Possible orthopaedic surgery on one of his back legs.
Although the costs of these operations are expected to be very high, quickly passing the 5,000-dollar mark, the authorities and medical staff decided not to give up on the puppy. They are doing everything they can to save his life.
An official appeal for information launched by authorities
The town's animal control department is now trying to piece together what happened to identify the owner or the person responsible for this cruel abandonment.
Officer Wentworth, who is leading the case, is urging anyone with information about Oscar, or who noticed suspicious behaviour near the bins, to contact the local communications centre immediately. In the meantime, little Oscar continues his fight for life, surrounded by a dedicated medical team.
