The rescuers knew that every minute counted to get the newborns to safety.
They took the little family in quickly and placed them with an experienced foster carer.
A very brave mother cat
However, despite round-the-clock monitoring and intensive vet care, the following days were incredibly tough. Already fragile at birth, the kittens began falling ill one by one. Sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, Magpie, Heron, Grackle, Sparrow and Titmouse did not survive.
Only one little kitten from the litter survived: Chickadee. She had to face numerous health issues, including a viral infection, a mouth ulcer and lung disease. Her foster carer did everything possible to help her pull through.
A true survivor
Gradually, things began to look up, and Chickadee's condition finally improved. Her fever broke, her energy returned, and she started eating, drinking and playing just like any other kitten her age.
Today, Chickadee has grown into a lively, curious and fearless young cat. She has been adopted by a loving family, and now shares her daily life with a feline big sister who adores playing with her. After going through such terrible ordeals, Binx has also found happiness in her own loving home.
We are thrilled to know that Chickadee and Binx are safe and healthy. They will never have to worry about their future again, and we wish them all the happiness in the world.
