On the afternoon of 10th June, the rescue team welcomed Urus and his owner.
The poor woman had “lost everything”, as the centre explained in their Facebook post.
A heartbreaking goodbye
Sadly, she could no longer care for Urus or meet all his needs. She had to make the terrible decision to surrender her dog, even though he was “everything to her”. It was the same for Urus: his human was his whole world, and being separated from her was utterly devastating.
The poor pup found himself behind the bars of his kennel, unsure of what his future would hold and far from the comforting presence of the person he had known his whole life.
In the video below, you can hear his despair as he cries in his kennel. The scene is absolutely heart-wrenching.
Time to adjust
For now, Urus is not available for adoption, as the rescue team needs time to get to know him. This will help them care for him properly and find a family that perfectly matches his needs.
