Sacha is a 7-year-old Akita Inu.
Wildlife is quite active in this part of the United States, and it's not uncommon to see bears, coyotes, or even venomous snakes in the area.
A terrifying attack
But on 7th May, a very different kind of visitor appeared in Kevin's garden. Kevin was in the bathroom when he heard Sacha scream. It was such a terrible sound that he knew instantly something was seriously wrong, and he rushed downstairs.
Right by the front door, a puma was attacking Sacha. The dog was pinned to the ground, with the puma's paws wrapped around her body and her head locked in its jaws.
A life-saving instinct
Kevin didn't hesitate for a second. He rushed towards them, waving his arms and screaming at the top of his lungs: "Get out of here!" before kicking the puma. Fortunately, the shock and surprise of the attack made the puma release its grip, and Sacha managed to break free.
Sacha suffered deep wounds to her head. After the attack, one of the puma's fangs was found lodged in her skull, as you can see in the footage below. Fortunately, despite her injuries, Sacha is expected to make a full recovery. She is now doing well and resting at home with her owners, who are also recovering from the terrifying ordeal.
