The dog helped to uncover heavy weapons and was involved in rescuing people in danger.
When he retired, he was adopted by a lovely couple.
A new beginning
When they met, it was love at first sight! Kenai turned out to be a dog full of life who loves to play. Sometimes, his family find it hard to believe he was a police dog for so many years! His parents take him everywhere with them and they go on long hikes together at the weekends.
While out for a walk in the countryside, Kenai suddenly stopped near a farm. He showed his parents that there was something to see, and he refused to move. His parents went straight over to see what was going on...
Coming to the rescue
A small, lost lamb was in the middle of the field, far from its mother. Kenai's parents immediately picked up the lamb and took it back to the farm. The little one was able to rejoin the flock. Without Kenai's help, it seems unlikely that anyone would have found the lamb.
But Kenai's adventures don't stop there! A few days after rescuing the little lamb, Kenai unfortunately fractured his elbow while chasing his ball. The Thin Blue Paw Foundation, an organisation that supports retired police dogs, stepped in to help Kenai's family and paid the dog's vet bills.
Fortunately, the surgery was a complete success. We're so relieved for Kenai and wish him a speedy recovery.
