The three kittens were discovered after being humanely trapped by the rescuers.
Safe at last
Iron Maiden, the female, was placed in a foster home in Ridgewood, while the two little males stayed together at the rescue centre. Having only ever known life on the streets, the kittens were terrified when they first arrived.
The rescuers placed them in a bathroom so they could look after them and treat them for parasites. The bathroom proved to be the perfect space to give the kittens the time and room they needed to decompress.
Building their confidence
Every day, the rescuers would come to the bathroom with toys and treats to encourage the kittens to play. They would simply sit in the room, helping the little ones get used to their kind human presence.
Slowly but surely, all their efforts helped the kittens to build their confidence. Then one day, Metallica climbed onto a rescuer's lap and took a treat from their hand! It was a huge breakthrough.
From that moment on, the kittens began to trust their rescuers and showed themselves to be playful, food-loving little cats. The good news is that all the kittens with heavy metal names have now found their forever homes!
