Rescuers from the Refuge de l'Espoir in the Drôme region of France found them at the edge of a wood on 22nd March.
Without their intervention, the pups would have had no chance of survival.
A difficult start
When they were examined, both Zip and Scratch were found to be suffering from mange. The rescuers described the act of abandonment as not only cruel, but also cowardly.
There are always other options to consider before abandoning two defenceless puppies in the woods. Rescue centres and charities are there to support people who are struggling to care for their pets.
A happy ending
Fortunately, Zip and Scratch were saved just in time. They were taken to the Refuge de l'Espoir, where they received treatment, love, and protection. Then, on 1st May, the rescuers shared the best news of all.
After their recovery, the two pups were put up for adoption... and they have both found their loving forever homes! They can now relax and enjoy the rest of their lives in comfort. We wish them a wonderful life filled with happiness.
