On a small farm, eggs were mysteriously disappearing. As reported by People magazine, the owners decided to launch their own investigation to identify the culprit.
To solve the mystery, they placed a 'bait' egg on the ground and set up cameras to secretly watch what happened. Their goal was to catch the culprit in the act.
The suspect is one of the family
Their plan soon paid off. A first suspect appeared: Canelo, one of the farm dogs. In the footage, he approaches the egg, gives it a long sniff, and then walks away.
Two other dogs then wander past the egg. But shortly after, in a surprising turn of events, Canelo returns to the scene. This time, he gently picks it up and walks away, finally revealing the identity of the mysterious thief.
An unlikely thief
The scene was shared on TikTok on the account farmofmilkandhoney. Despite the clear evidence, the owner joked that she was ”still not totally convinced”, explaining that Canelo ”can do no wrong”.
In the comments, many users even came to the dog's defence. Some suggested he wasn't stealing the eggs but was ”moving them to keep them safe”, pointing out the gentle way he carried them.
