Behaviour after returning from walks

My 5-month-old Shiba paws at her water bowl every time we get back from a walk. Does anyone else's dog do this? Does anyone know why she might be doing it? It's always the second we get home from our walk.

I suppose she’s just having fun? Or maybe a way of burning off some energy? Like a “mad half hour” but scratching at her water bowl?

    Hi,

This behaviour is quite common in dogs and can have several explanations (excitement after a walk, instinctive behaviour, or just a simple habit). As long as your puppy is healthy, drinking normally, and isn’t showing any other unusual signs, there’s generally no cause for concern. However, if this behaviour becomes excessive or is accompanied by other symptoms, don’t hesitate to mention it to your vet.

    Best wishes,

    Victoire
