Hi, my dog is 16 and he already had a stroke 6 months ago. He's showing the same symptoms now, so I think it's happening again, but the vets are closed today.

He's staggering, confused, struggling to walk and has lost his appetite... back in December he was attacked by an American Bully which made his condition even worse... I don't want to keep him going just for the sake of it; what should I do? Carry on until the end with medication etc., or look into a peaceful end with the vet? I can look after him right now because I'm on holiday, but I'm back at work next week and there'll be no one to look after him. I'm so sad, lost and overwhelmed...

I came back early from my holiday because the situation was getting worse, and another vet told me it was the beginning of the end. It’s been so hard; my darling baby ❤️ has left us to join his own. We had to end his suffering. It’s still very difficult to come to terms with it today, but he would have suffered too much. I loved him, I love him, and I will love him forever. I miss him so much, but I have to let him find peace with those who went before him.
