Hi everyone, I've been searching for a way to protect my cat's dry food but I'm not having much luck. His bowl is kept on a raised terrace (it's on stilts, about 6.5ft up) and the only way to get to it is via a ladder. Until now, only my cat would go up and down the ladder, but now the local cats have figured it out and are coming round for a free lunch. I'm looking for a way to deter only the intruders. I was thinking of some kind of sonic or ultrasonic repeller, because my cat is deaf, so he wouldn't be bothered by the noise and it wouldn't stop him from using his terrace. Or any other solutions, obviously... I'd love to hear your ideas! Thanks in advance,

    To keep intruders away without disturbing your deaf cat, the ideal solution would be to install a motion-activated ultrasonic deterrent at the top of the ladder: the high-pitched whistle will scare off any neighbouring cats, while yours won't hear a thing due to being deaf. There is also another alternative, which is to use a microchip pet feeder. This stays firmly closed to any outdoor animals and will only open for your cat.
