We’ve recently received a devastating diagnosis – Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease. Our pup is in a lot of pain and needs an urgent operation, but the vet bills are just too much for us to afford in our current situation. The kids are so attached to him and can't imagine life without him. We don't want to lose him just because we can't afford the treatment. Every share and even the smallest donation gives us hope. 💔 [Link to our fundraising page]

    Hi,

I wish you so much strength during this difficult time.

In the meantime, try to make your dog as comfortable as you possibly can. To do this, you should try to keep him from having to move around too much; since he’ll be lying down a lot, make sure his bed or mat is comfy. Don’t hesitate to help him shift positions as well. As he won’t be moving much, you can give him gentle massages—anywhere except on the leg affected by necrosis—to help ease any potential stiffness. Finally, I imagine your vet may have prescribed some anti-inflammatories to help manage the pain to some extent.

My thoughts are with you during this ordeal.

    Best wishes,

    Quitterie.
