Does your cat track litter outside the tray?

Hi everyone, I'm doing a bit of research on a problem I think many cat owners are familiar with: litter granules getting stuck to paws and ending up on the floor when the cat steps out of the tray.

Before I build a prototype, I'd like to find out if this is actually a big enough issue for people and which solution would be preferred.

I've put together a very short page showing two possible designs. There’s nothing for sale and no payment is required.

If you have a cat that uses a litter tray, I'd really appreciate your feedback:

It only takes about 1-2 minutes. Negative opinions or criticisms are also welcome; at this stage, I'm mainly interested in seeing if it’s actually worth making the prototype.

Thanks!

Hi there, This is definitely a daily struggle that's very familiar to many cat owners! Actually, the problem mostly depends on the type of litter used and the type of litter tray. To deal with litter granules getting stuck to paws and then being scattered across the floor, most owners currently use litter mats (like the honeycomb or mesh ones). However, cleaning them is often a real chore... The real challenge for your prototype will be to combine anti-tracking effectiveness with the cat's comfort! Best of luck with your project and developing your prototype! :)) Best wishes, Laure.
