Hi everyone,

I found a lump on my cat's neck just over a week and a half ago. I took some photos and asked the vet last week; they told me to clean it with an antiseptic like Betadine twice a day, which I've been doing. It looked really nasty at first. I can see it's changed colour slightly, but it's still not going away. I thought he might have been fighting with my other cat, but I'm not sure if it actually looks like a wound or not. He's had two on his head before and they eventually just disappeared overnight...

    You could potentially try waiting a few more days while continuing to disinfect the area with Betadine to see if the lesion improves. If there is no change, go back to see your vet, making sure to mention the previous lesions.
    If you feel the need, don't hesitate to see another vet for a second opinion. There are also specialist veterinary dermatologists available.
