Underdosing Milpro wormer

Hi everyone,

I’d appreciate a bit of advice, please. I’ve just weighed my cat and he is 5kg (about 11 lbs).

I messed up the dosage and only gave him half a Milpro tablet instead of a whole one.

What should I do in this situation?

I’m supposed to give him another tablet in 15 days; should I give him a full tablet then or do I need to top up the dose now?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hello, As a vet student, I’m not entirely sure of the best course of action, so I would recommend contacting your vet before making any changes to the dosage. Depending on the type of wormer and the reason for the treatment, the approach might be different. I think that for routine worming, a one-off underdose isn’t considered an emergency, but it could make the treatment less effective. Due to the risk of toxicity, I wouldn’t change the dosage without seeking a vet's advice first. Kind regards, Quitterie
