Evening everyone, I've loved all my cats and the ones we had at my parents' house, but I just can't move on from Lola's death. She passed away on 15th November 2022, so it's nearly been two years now, but the grief is just as raw as the day it happened. I've cried for and had to grieve all of them, but that pain always eased with time, even though I'll never forget them. With Lola, it's not getting any easier. I cry the moment I think of her, or if I see a photo or something that belonged to her. And yet, I feel like I loved them all just the same. Has anyone else been through this?

    I’m so sorry for your loss. Everyone grieves differently, even when we’ve loved each of our pets just as deeply. There is no ‘normal’ length of time for grief, and the fact that you still miss Lola so much doesn’t mean you dealt with your other losses any less well.

    Sometimes, a specific relationship or a certain time in our lives means that an absence is felt differently. Give yourself the time and the space to think of her, even if it’s still painful. I hope that in time, your memories of Lola will gradually bring you more comfort than sadness.
