Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my current experience with one of my British Shorthair kittens. He is 28 days old but unfortunately, he is very frail and undersized.

The biggest challenge is that he doesn't know how to suckle from his mum on his own. Since he lacks that natural sucking reflex and the mum is low on milk, I've had to step in urgently.

To keep him alive and help him put on weight, I'm bottle-feeding him with goat's milk every 2 hours, day and night. It's an intensive schedule, but it's the only way for him to slowly regain his strength.

I'm being very careful with his position (keeping him flat on his tummy) to avoid any milk going down the wrong way. It's a test of patience, but every gram gained is a victory!

Have any of you ever had a kitten that didn't know how to suckle? How did you handle the situation?Fighting to save a sickly 28-day-old kitten (Intensive feeding)
