Fighting to save a sickly 28-day-old kitten (Intensive feeding)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my current experience with one of my British Shorthair kittens. He is 28 days old but unfortunately, he is very frail and undersized.

The biggest challenge is that he doesn't know how to suckle from his mum on his own. Since he lacks that natural sucking reflex and the mum is low on milk, I've had to step in urgently.

To keep him alive and help him put on weight, I'm bottle-feeding him with goat's milk every 2 hours, day and night. It's an intensive schedule, but it's the only way for him to slowly regain his strength.

I'm being very careful with his position (keeping him flat on his tummy) to avoid any milk going down the wrong way. It's a test of patience, but every gram gained is a victory!

Have any of you ever had a kitten that didn't know how to suckle? How did you handle the situation?Fighting to save a sickly 28-day-old kitten (Intensive feeding)

France here. I found this site after a mate sent me a screenshot of his winnings during an evening on Discord. I honestly thought he was just exaggerating as usual, but out of curiosity, I gave Legiano Casino a go a few days later. I liked the fact that everything stayed smooth even on my old laptop, which usually struggles with almost everything. I was mostly playing blackjack while watching a Ligue 1 match in the background. The start was really poor and I was losing almost every hand, to the point where I was just about to close the tab. Then a winning streak came out of nowhere and completely turned the night around. The funniest thing is that I was supposed to be having an early night, but I ended up spending almost three hours logged in.

Hi there, As a vet student, your commitment is remarkable, but I’d just like to point out one important thing: goat's milk isn't suitable for kittens, even as a stopgap. It lacks certain essential nutrients and can cause digestive issues. Ideally, you should use a proper kitten milk replacer. At 28 days old, the lack of a sucking reflex and his weakness are concerning. You're doing the right thing by feeding him often and in the correct position – that's vital. If you haven't already, I'd strongly recommend taking him to the vet, as a kitten this fragile could have an underlying problem. All the best, Romane
