Hi everyone,

Mango (a Min Pin cross Chihuahua) has arthritis and his back end sometimes seizes up. I give him a massage and he seems better afterwards, but I was wondering if using a lukewarm hot water bottle might help him?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Yes, applying heat is one of the nursing techniques recommended for pets with joint pain. Make sure you check the temperature of the hot water bottle against your own skin before giving it to Mango. Ensure their bed or mat is comfortable and don't hesitate to give them some gentle massages to help relieve any stiffness. All these little steps should help make them a bit more comfortable.

    Best wishes,

    Quitterie
